Passport/Visa requirements
Passport valid for six months beyond intended stay. Return ticket required. British nationals visiting as tourists do not require a visa. Tourist cards valid up to 30 days are issued on arrival. Other passport holders should contact the Trips office for information.
Geography
Honduras is the knee of Cental America, bordered on the south by Nicaragua and El Salvador and to the west by Guatemala. The majority of the country is mountainous, with peaks ranging from 300 to 2850m. In the south there is a large plateau of volcanic material. It has a 400-mile long Caribbean coast and a 78-mile Pacific coast. Lowland areas along the coastline are marshy. The Caribbean Bay Islands and, further northeast, the distant Swan Islands are both part of Honduran territory.
Climate
