Hacienda Temozon - Mexico

Hacianda Temozon

This is the largest of the haciendas and is maybe the most impressive. Once a family run estate, it is a fine example of the prosperity generated in this area in the second half of the 19th century from sisal production. The First World War changed all this and vastly reduced the hacienda's wealth. It was finally confiscated in 1937 and left to ruin before it was brought and restored to its former glory.

El Meson Del Marques

This comfortable hotel has been run by generations of the same family who offer a very warm welcome to their sixteenth century house, a former colonial mansion. The oldest rooms surround a Spanish courtyard with a pretty fountain and lots of greenery where you can dine under the arches. This deceptively large property also boasts a swimming pool. Meson Del Marques fronts onto Vallodolids park.

Hacienda Uxmal

Hacienda Uxmal

This beautiful colonial style hotel was originally built to house the archaeologists who excavated Uxmal. The rooms are built around the courtyard and decorated with hand painted tiles and masonry sculpted by local artists. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the Mayan site of Uxmal. Apart from its location so close to the ruins, this hotel captures the grand colonial past of when these ruins were first discovered.

Casa del Balam - Mexico

Casa del Balam

The hotel Casa Del Balam is in the heart of Merida’s historic centre, facing the Opera House. It is elegantly decorated with colonial antiques, carved stone arches, wrought iron accessories and marble floors. Our favoured hotel in this lively city, its mix of colonial and modern design is far more attractive than many of its grander but modern rivals. Its location in the heart of the city also means you can see as much of Mexican life as you want as easily as possible.

Ambiance Villas

Ambiance Villas

Sitting on one of Cancun’s best beaches, Ambiance Villas is located at the far end of the hotel zone, which makes it a quieter place than most hotels in the area. With 150 rooms, Ambiance Villas is a relatively small hotel, giving it a cozier feel than most people would expect in Cancun. The food is good, especially breakfast and there are always plenty of free sun launchers by the pool and on the beach.
