Panamonte Inn and Spa

This quaint hotel is located on the fringes of town in the lush mountain valley of Boquete. A friendly hotel with just nineteen rooms, all en suite and comfortably furnished, overlooking the stunning well kept garden with over 200 varieties of orchids. The restaurant serves good cuisine and is popular with locals as well as guests. The cocktail lounge has a roaring log fire for the winter months.

Our Opinion: This property has real character and charm.  

Miramar Panama

Located right on the waterfront, this five star property is well situated with excellent views across the bay of Panama City. You can see the yacht marina, the old colonial city in the distance and the huge ships waiting to enter the famous Panama Canal. The hotel offers a multitude of facilities to keep you entertained, including a swimming pool, beauty salon and gymnasium.

Our Opinion: Well worth the experience.

Canopy Tower

This exclusive and very unusual lodge was originally built in 1965 by the US Air Force to house radar used in the defence of the Panama Canal. Today it is an ecolodge and nature observatory. Bedrooms are at treetop level, no more than 40-feet away from the rainforest canopy all with stunning views. They are relitavely small, but comfortable. Walk around the roof top level for a spectacular 360-degree view.

Our Opinion: A truly unique and special place to stay.

Park Eden

The Park Eden Bed and Breakfast, is located less than two hours drive from Panama City. El Valle de Anton is a beautiful and picturesque countryside town nestled on the crater of an extinct volcano, with abundant nature and different outdoor activities available, including hiking, horseback riding and bird watching. The eight cosy guestrooms are decorated in traditional style and are well equipped.

Our Opinion: A charming place with lots of character.

Punta Caracol

Punta Caracol is a completely unique and beautiful aqua lodge. The simple and elegant palapa style wooden cabanas are perched just off the coast of an uninhabited island, in the Bocas del Toro Archipelago. On two floors, the cabanas are connected by a woodern walkway, with the downstairs seating area leading out onto your own private sundeck with steps into the crystal clear water.

Our Opinion: An idyllic retreat with excellent snorkelling.  

Hacienda Del Mar

Hacienda Del Mar is the only establishment on a 14,000-acre private island in the Pearl Island Archipelago and is made from local white cane, as are the fourteen private cabins, many with fantastic views over the beach. Each one is simply and tastefully designed with a balcony and en-suite bathroon. There are thirty isolated beaches on the island, all of which can be discovered by boat or jeep from the hotel.

Our Opinion: Perfect for nature lovers and those looking for peace and quiet.  

Gamboa Rainforest Resort

Gamboa Rainforest Resort is a luxury destination resort located on the Panama Canal, in the heart of the lush Panamanian rainforest. The resort has been carefully designed to provide a variety of educational and adventure experiences. The resort covers over 340 acres along the banks of the historic Chagres River, the main water source for the Panama Canal. Its surroundings offer unique landscapes, including Gatun Lake, the Panama Canal, and the Soberania National Park.

Our Opinion: An interesting though rather large and themed resort that offers excellent facilities in a wonderful location.

Amador Country Inn and Suites.

This hotel is just out of Panama City and has great views of the Bridge of the Americas. It has 98 rooms and a nice pool.

Our Opinion: A comfortable place to have a stop over.

El Limbo on the Beach Hotel

Sister hotel to El Limbo in Bocas del Toro, this small and simple hotel is right on the beach on Bastimentos Island National Marine Park , Bocas del Toro Archipielago. It is a preserved area of 35 acres, and is totally underdeveloped, where you can enjoy miles of unspoiled beaches.

Typical antillean building in style the hotel faces the ocean and includes breakfast, dinner, snorkeling, gear, kayaks and a room over the beach with private bathroom. This hotel is basic and there is no hot water. The hotel has a limited bar and some people take wine with them to enjoy with their evening meals. A good idea we think!

Our Opinion: Very simple but still special.
