CHILLEAN VOLCANO ERUPTION

Over the past week visitors to the south of Chile have been witnessing a natural phenomenom.

The Llaima volcano, said to be South America's most active spewed lava, ash and smoke up to 1000meters into the sky. As the main part of the ashes covered the Conguillo National Park, about 8 km East of Temuco, Chile's Emergency Bureau decided to close the national park to the public. Due to the high column of ash and gas, the natural event can easily be seen fromfar (up to 100 kilometers away from the volcano). Beyond doubt, nature lovers and hobby geologists will be enthusiastic.
