SOUTH GEORGIA AND THE FALKLAND ISLANDS

Combined with the Antarctic Peninsula itself, this trip will undoubtedly give you the best overview of the entire region. Day 1 - Buenos Aires
Fly to Buenos Aires and transfer to the Art Hotel. Free time to enjoy the city.

Start your journey in Ushuaia, in Tierra del Fuego. From there you will sail down the Beagle Channel, named after Charles Darwin’s ship that brought him to the region. Sail on to the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), en-route you will learn more about the fl ora and fauna you will expect to encounter on landings.

Once at the islands, infl atable Zodiacs will take you ashore to meet the local residents and soak up the landscape and wildlife of these remote and barren islands.
Days 7-12 - South Georgia
Continue your voyage to South Georgia, where a series of landings will enable you to explore king penguin rookeries, vast seal colonies, abandoned whaling stations and the grave of Sir Ernest Shackleton.
Days 13-21 - South Shetlands
From here you will head south and west to explore the magnifi cent ice strewn bays and islands of the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetlands (please see earlier details). Here you will experience a different collection of wildlife including gentoo, Adélie penguins and Weddell seals, before crossing the famously unpredictable Drake Passage en-
route back to South America and your return fl ight home.
Day 23 - Buenos Aires
Enjoy a night in Buenos Aires before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
