Head north to the winter pack ice in search of walrus, polar bears and musk-ox, landing on remote islands to walk on the Arctic tundra and search for regional flora. Day 2 - Resolute
Fly from Ottawa to Resolute, deep in the High Arctic.
Accommodation options: Akademik IoffeDays 3-6 - Wellington Channel
Explore the Wellington Channel and the waters and bays of Beechy Island, Croker Bay, Dundas Harbour and Devon Island. There will be plenty of opportunities to board a Zodiac and land onshore in search of polar bears, musk-ox and walrus. In Jones Sound, Stop and view the impressive seabird cliffs at Cobourg Island, before attempting to land on Ellesmere Island to visit the Inuit community in Canada’s northernmost settlement.
Day 7 - Qaanaaq
Head east to visit Qaanaaq, the gateway to Greenland, to learn from the Inuit community about hunting for polar bear, walrus, seals and whales.
Days 8-12 - Kap York
Round Kap York with its Little Auk nesting sites to search the ice sheet in Baffin Bay for polar bears. Explore the beautiful coastal waters of Baffin Island before heading west to Resolute with a stop on route at the Cape Hay Migratory Bird Sanctuary.
Day 13 - Resolute
Fly from Resolute to Ottawa for your onward flight to the UK.
Day 14 - Ottawa
Return to Ottawa and overnight before your flight home.
