Journey 600 miles from the North Pole to Spitzbergen, also know as Svalbard and enter a world of dazzling glaciers, ice-plateaux and snow-capped peaks. With its deep fjords, sweeping tundra and summer alpine meadows of wildflowers, the archipelago boasts a population of 3,500 people in five settlements. Cruise amongst the islands and discover huge Arctic seabird colonies, reindeer, Arctic fox, walrus, seals, whales and polar bear.

Day 1 - Longyearbyen

Arrive in Longyearbyen on the west coast of Spitzbergen.

Days 2 - 10 - Zodiac

Depending on the weather you will have the chance to explore many of the highlights of this region. Take a Zodiac ashore and hike among the wildflowers discovering the remarkable bird life around the islands. Visit Ny-Alesund, one of the northernmost communities in the world and hear the history of the Dutch whalers of Smeerenburgfjord. Land in the polar desert of Sparreneset and look for bears on the ice-domed island of Kvitoya. In Bourbonhamna you can search for Beluga Whales or visit Nordaustlandet Island with its two huge glaciers and ice-sheet 200m wide!

Day 11 - Longyearbyen

Arrive in Longyearbyen for your departure flight to the Norwegian mainland and on to the UK.
