JOHN FAITHFULL
John has been working in travel for twenty years now, the last ten of which have been with Trips. Consequently his globe-trotting has become much more focused on Latin America and the Caribbean. He has found it a real pleasure to develop long-term working relationships with local agents and hotels in the region, not to mention a huge new group of rum-drinking friends.
Interests
Local cuisines (preferably hot and spicy), wildlife, snorkelling, photography, walking, rum & beer (or the local equivalent), temples, people, dramatic scenery, architecture, durian fruit.
Specialised knowledge
The lesser known Caribbean (including plenty of backwater Cuba when lost on poorly sign-posted country roads), hiking, biking and kayaking on the more mountainous islands and Caribbean rums (from firewater to smooth vintages).
