Days 1-3 - Rio De Janerio

Get off to the perfect start with 3 days in Rio de Janerio. Dramatically set between the mountains and the sea, with long sandy beaches, scantily clad locals and a buzzing nightlife, Rio is everything you imagined that it would be. The most visited sights are Corcovado and the Sugar Loaf where you can enjoy impressive views of the city. Laid back fun is a priority here with carnival the epitomy of it all.

During your stay in Rio you will be located in the elegant area of Ipanema at the Ipanema Plaza. Just 100-metres from the beach, this is one of the best hotels in the area. A stones throw away from some of the most sophisticated restaurants, bars and shops in Rio, Ipanema is the perfect alternative to Copacabana. The rooftop swimming pool is fabulous and the adjoining bar is the ideal place to enjoy a cocktail at the end of a busy day sightseeing.

Days 4-6 - Iguazu Falls

Today you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight to the Iguazu Falls.

Niagara pales into insignificance beside the 2.5km long Iguazú Falls. Both higher and wider, it is a truly spectacular sight. The falls are situated in a well looked after national park, in a sub-tropical region of Argentina. A day can be spent exploring the waterways that provide one with still different breathtaking views of these complex waterfalls. On the other side of the river lies Brazil where a more formal falls experience can be enjoyed.

Your 3 days spend here will be at the Aldea de la Selva Lodge. This stunning lodge is immersed in the Parana Rainforest. La Aldea de la Selva Lodge offers a unique luxury rainforest experience which is ideally located for lots of activities centred around the spectacular falls. Each room comes with a private balcony and personal hammock overlooking the rainforest.

Breakfast included plus a jungle fly excursion (rapelling/ziplining and hiking) and a tour of the Falls (both the Brazilian and Argentinean sides).

Take an internal flight back to Rio.

Days 7-9 - Paraty

Take a 4 hour transfer by road to Paraty for your next 3 days. You might enjoy to take a schooner trip around some of the islands in the bay, visit the many ornate churches, explore the colonial cobbled streets with art galleries and restaurants, go horse riding or trek to waterfalls and along the old historic gold trail or walk to the town beach of Pontal or further to the Jabaquara beach.

Stay at the Pousada Da Marquesa. This hotel is brimming with character. Situated in a beautiful colonial building opposite the main church, the Igreja da Marquesa, it is ideally situated close to the harbour, but away from the main strip of Paraty. all rooms have high ceilings, dark wood and colonial style furniture. This is a lovely, simple place to stay. The spacious courtyard now houses a refreshing pool with lots of plants and shade.

Days 10-14 - Picinguaba

Spend the final 4 nights of your trip at the Pousada Picinguaba. Situated in a calm and peaceful bay in the sleepy fishing village of Picinguaba, the pousada is 30-minutes south of Paraty. Overlooking the sea and a protected 3km long sandy beach, it offers charming, rustic rooms opening out to the natural surroundings. There is a dream honeymoon suite with jacuzzi and breathaking views over the ocean. The road stops at the beach, so access to the hotel is on foot.

You can, take a schooner trip around some of the islands in the bay, go kayaking, coss the river the river to go the paradise beach of Fazenda, go trekking and explore the waterfalls, explore the old historic gold trail, go horse back riding, visit the many ornate churches, explore the colonial cobbled streets with art galleries, boutiques and restaurants in Paraty, or simply relax on the stunning beaches.

On the final day transfer back to Rio for your flight home.
