Most visits to the Chilean south would include a visit to Torres del Paine National Park. This is located in the heart of Patagonia and is home to a truly magnificent mountain range. These dramatic mountains emerge seemingly from nowhere, contrasting strongly with the plains of the Patagonian steppe. The ‘Torres’ themselves, are granite towers that climb to some 2000m and are quite spectacular. The park also has lakes, waterfalls, forests, snow-capped mountains, glaciers and icebergs.
