GUYANA

Guyana is one of our least visited destinations. However, for true explorers and lovers of nature, to visit a country so blissfully free of tourist trappings is a rare treat. But please do not expect luxury accommodation because you will be disappointed.

As big as Britain with a population of less than 750,000 people, this is a land of high mountains, thick rainforest and vast savannahs. A place of great rivers, the Demerara and the Berbic, and the only English speaking country on mainland South America.

There are many highlights - from the charming shambolic capital of Georgetown you can take an overland camping trek to the Kaietur and Orinduik Falls, go horse riding or take a fishing or jungle trek in the rainforest. The diverse ecosystem of the Rupunini Savanna attracts spectacular birds - look out for the Guyanan cock-of-th-rock and the rare harpy eagle. Mammals that survive here range from the tpir to the ocelot and a massive collection of monkeys.

The places, accommodation and tours shown on this page represent only a small selection of Trips Tailormade bespoke holidays. For more information about travelling with us, and the locations we offer, please contact us or let us call you!.
