LIMA AND THE COAST
The coast of Peru is arid desert, but cool for most of the year despite being in the tropics, due to the cooling mists caused by the Humbolt current. The colonial capital hides an old centre that has recently been given a well-needed face-lift. It is well worth spending some time in of Lima’s numerous museums, and admiring the now spruced up central plazas of the historical centre.
