Borneo

borneo was one of the best experiences of my life. would recommend it to those who love to experience new things. the sights are breathtaking and the people are fantastic. it's well worth the plane journey. carpe diem!

As a solo traveller Nikki was understandably worried about visiting Borneo on her own.

The Shuffrey Family

we had a really fabulous holiday - best one that we’ve ever had. sri lanka has so much to offer i really hope that the tourists go back as they are desperately needed.

The Sri Lankans were very charming to us especially as we were English. There was evidence of road blocks and increased security but we did not feel at all threatened when we were there.

The Clark Family

Malaysia

the clark family experienced a wonderful holiday in malaysia and were glad to find us as we were the only operator who could organise the overnight sleeper to kota bharu.

The flight out to Singapore was straightforward, although boring, as all activities seem to pale somewhat after 14 hours! We all watched the in-flight films, with plenty of choice although on a fairly small individual screen. Elspeth managed to watch 5 films! I still feel the whole process is like being loaded into a cattle truck for 400...

656 Squadron Association

Malaysia

we would heartily recommend magic of the orient to anyone, from lone tourist to large groups, to economically and professionally organise their travel to the far east.

In May 2000, Magic of the Orient arranged a tour to Malaysia for fifteen of our members. The tour was very well planned and was a huge success, meeting all of our requirements to combine a holiday for the families of members and battlefield tours for those so inclined. On the strength of that success, Magic of the Orient was asked to plan and organise a more complicated tour to Malaysia for forty of our members in 2006. Once again, they excelled.

Cambodia

loved every minute.

We had a fantastic trip in Cambodia. You used hotels I wanted, not the hotels that every other company used. This was the trip I wanted!

Mount Kinabalu, Borneo

it is difficult to highlight particular interests as we loved it all.

Before my trip to Borneo, the only word I would connect to Borneo was orang-utan. Now, I realize it is so much more! It is full of diverse eco systems, with an array of bird and wildlife and home of south east Asia's highest mountain, Mount Kinabalu. We climbed...and we died....unlike other mountains of its height...its extremely steep..which you feel mainly on the descent. We thought Kuching was a fantastic city beautifully set on a river. The local people are proud of their culture and are generous in sharing their knowledge of their country and their local heritage. The beaches are stunning and empty. The orang-utans are a must see as well as the probiscus monkeys.

Sandra Rossi and Ken MacLennan-Brown

we were very impressed with magic of the orient and would not hesitate to use them again.

It started with Ken looking for a dive operation which could support his rebreather. He hit on somewhere called Tioman. I looked on the internet and found that this is a little island covered with primary rainforest, so it sounded good to me too. We contacted Magic of the Orient and the very efficient Alison Brookes made all the arrangements for us, promptly handling all queries and adapting the itinerary to accommodate any requested changes.
