AMANKORA PARO

Combining ‘aman’, Sanskrit for peace, with ‘kora’ for circular pilgrimage in Dzongkha, the Bhutanese language, Amankora is a series of lodges in Bhutan’s central and Western valleys.

The 24-suite pine forest retreat contracts rustic with the contemporary. At an elevation of 2250 metres the Paro property is 30 minutes form the airport and is the gateway to the Kingdom.

The guest suites feature a combined lounge and bedroom area with a king-size bed, window seat, reading chair and traditional wood burning stove. The spacious bathroom has a large terrazzo-clad bath, twin vanities, separate shower and toilet.

Our Option: The spa offers many treatments which are very welcome after a hard day trekking in the area.
