THIMPHU
Established as the capital in 1961, Thimpu is the world’s only capital without a set of traffic lights. A set was installed, but the residents complained it was too impersonal, so it was replaced by a white gloved traffic policeman!
This is a friendly and relaxed town with a youthful exuberance. There is plenty to keep you entertained and places of interest include the Textile Museum, the Folk HeritageMuseum and the weekend market.
