BORNEO

The East Malaysia states of Sabah and Sarawak, occupy the northwest coast of the island of Borneo. Together are larger than the whole of Peninsular Malaysia, and its people have an entirely different heritage. Their roots stretch back some 40,000 years, but today’s population is as diverse as its ecology, a mix of 32 ethnic groups, of which 70% are Christian. Both Sabah and Sarawak are becoming hugely popular destinations but have still kept their original charm. Most famous for the orang-utans, there is a multitude of wildlife, culture and scenery here just waiting to be explored.
