BRUNEI EXTENSION

Tucked neatly between Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo is the tiny Islamic sultanate of Brunei. Known mostly for the wealth of its famous Sultan, Brunei is a tax-free destination with a host of things to see and do. Brunei is accessible by direct flights from various Asian countries and is available as an extension to both Sabah and Sarawak itineraries. Below we have featured a 2-night trip from Sarawak. Day 1 - Bandar Seri Begawan
Transfer overland from either Miri airport or your hotel to the border check point at Brunei. This journey takes about 45 minutes. Continue to Brunei and drive overland to the capital Bandar Seri Begawan roughly 2 hours away. Transfer to your hotel for check in. The remainder of the day is free at your leisure. Overnight stay at Riverview Hotel.

Today you will enjoy a full day heritage tour of Brunei which includes the open markets, a busy place where locals buy their daily products. Next is the Malay Technology Museum which has galleries on the Malays, ethnic tribes and their lifestyle. Lunch will be at a local restaurant in town. In the afternoon, continue your heritage tour to the Jame Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque. Procedd to a boat ride and visit a house, where you can see the lifestyles of the locals.
