ULU AI LONGHOUSE

On this private tour to Ulu Ai, staying as guests with local Iban people, you will be richly rewarded by developing a greater understanding of the rainforest whilst experiencing the culture of one of Sarawak's more gregarious tribes. Accommodation is in a rustic lodge built on stilts in a local style.

Day 1 - Kuching - Batang Ai Longhouse Resort

Depart for Batang Ai reservoir with lunch en route. Upon arrival, proceed by longboat upriver to Nanga Sumpa. settle in at the jungle lodge. After dinner proceed to the longhouse lodge accross the river. Meet with the Iban people, learn about the culture and enjoy some local rice wine. Overnight stay at the Longhouse Lodge.

Day 2 - Nanga Sumpa

Following breakfast, hike the jungle trails along the river, of which their are many. Time to relax, swim, explore the rainforest and have lunch or try fishing Iban style. Return to the lodge. Late afternoon, depart down river by longboat. Overnight at Hilton's Batang Ai.

Day 3 - Nanga Sumpa Longhouse - Kuching

Following breakfast, depart down river by longboat, then overland back to Kuching, Enjoy lunch en-route. The tour ends on arrival in Kuching.
