CHINA

With a land mass approximately the size of Europe, China is the third largest country in the world and thus quite naturally a land of contrasts and of extremes. From the frozen frontiers of the north to the tropical rainforests of the South-West; from simple farming communities to industrial complexes; and from traditional villages to high rise metropolises. Relative to the rest of the Far East, costs for the independent traveller are disproportionately higher and service standards are not always as good but the sheer choice of experiences makes this ideal for the more independent-minded traveller who does not want to follow the crowd.
