Located in a scenic downtown area of Beijing and first built in thje late period of Qing Dynasty, the Hao Yuan Guest House is a typical Beijing courtyard style property. The rooms in the outer yard are simple but comfortable, with traditional furnishings, whereas the inner courtyard has luxurious large suites with Chinese furniture and rosewood.

Our Opinion: This is perfect for those wanting a taste of old Beijing. 

Marco Polo Xidan Beijing

Marco Polo Xidan Beijing is located three blocks from Tian'anmen Square and Forbidden City. Hotel amenities include the fitness center, sauna, heated indoor swimming pool, gift shop, hair salon, and Lobby Lounge. For dining, guests can enjoy classic Cantonese dishes at Fortune Garden Chinese Restaurant, pastries and breads at Deli/Cake Shop, and cuisine from the Mediterranean, Middle East, Southeast Asia, and China at Cafe Marco. The hotel also offers room service, a concierge, bell service, babysitting, currency exchange, and 24-hour front desk service.

Our Opinion: A comfortable 3* hotel with great facilities and you couldn’t wish for a better location.

Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel

Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel is located in the hub of Chengdu’s central business district and is close to the famous Leshan Grand Buddha, Mt. Emei and the Baoguang Temple. It has 402 spacious and comfortable rooms, a bar and two restaurants.

Our opinion: A great option in the heart of Chengdu.

The Bell Tower

This hotel is located in the heart of the ancient city of Xian, overlooking the famous Bell Tower and next to the Drum Tower. It is only a short stroll from the Great Mosque, an area that offers great souvenirs and antiques from all over China.

Our Opinion: A comfortable hotel in an excellent location.

One of Shanghai’s finest hotels, opposite the Bund. With the recent addition of a brand new tower, this hotel has been elevated to a class of it’s own, with remarkable new guest rooms, restaurants and signature Chi Spa. All rooms feature a plasma TV and DVD player.

Our Opinion: This is a stylish slick hotel with an excellent array of bars and restaurants with elegant views of the Bund.

Sofitel Hyland

Ideally located in the heart of the city, on the commercial and famous pedestrian Nanjing Street, the Sofitel Hyland is a popular choice. Within walking distance of the Bund, museums and People’s Square, you will be right at the heart of the action. The 401 guestrooms have all been recently refurbished and have a contempory look and style.

Our Opinion: A good 4* option for comfort and convenience in the heart of Shanghai. 

Four Seasons Hotel

Close to Nanjing Road, Shanghai's main shopping street, the elegant Four Seasons Hotel is renowned for its excellent service. Luxurious guestrooms in warm rich tones are a perfect blend of old and new and offer every amenity. The deluxe rooms are located on higher levels of the hotel and offer views of the Puxi district or the Shanghai skyline.

Our Opinion: An elegant, luxurious option. 

Sheraton Guilin

Located on the banks of the Li River the hotel has a lovely location with shops and restaurants just behind the hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient and the rooms are comfortable. The hotel has a good sized outdoor pool perfect to relax by after your days sight-seeing.

Our Opinion: A good choice with friendly staff. 

Banyan Tree Lijiang

The stunning Jade Dragon Snow Mountain overshadows this fantastic boutique resort. All 55 villas at this brand new resort have breathtaking views of this incredible snow capped mountain, close to the heart of Lijiang. Our Opinion: The perfect location and hotel for those seeking a peaceful retreat.  

Banyan Tree Ringha

A total retreat in the heart of Shangri-La, Yunnan. 32 suites and lodges luxuriously designed in local Tibetan style, each with a handcrafted wooden bathtub. All rooms have DVD and CD players. The award-winning Spa offers Hot Stone treatments, along with relaxing massages, to help you recover after a long days trekking.

Our Opinion: An idyllic rural retreat, totally off the beaten track with first class service and attention to detail.  

Gyalthang Dzong

This charming, original Tibetan style boutique hotel in the Yunnan town of Zhongdian, is a real treasure. The comfortable 47 rooms and suites are decorated in a rich ethnic style, in keeping with the Tibetan lamasery character. Rooms lend spectacular views over the expansive valley and towering mountains or the 'protector' hill behind the retreat.

Our Opinion: An original hotel with excellent service and wonderfully friendly staff.  

Landscape Hotel

A 3 star property built in the traditional Chinese Style with peaceful courtyards and nice gardens. The guestrooms have contemporary Chinese feel.  It is located right in the heart of the old town.

Our Opinion: Great for someone who wants to experience the local style. It is in an excellent location, situated right in the heart of the new town.

Jin Jiang Hotel

A comfortable 4 star hotel in, 10 minutes form Kunming Airport in the business district. The guestrooms are big and airy.

Our Opinion: A good hotel with a novel revolving restaurant on the 23rd Floor.

Harbour Plaza – Kunming

This hotel is located next to the picturesque Green Lake Park. With 300 guestrooms, this 5 star hotel is within walking distance of the city centre.

Our Opinion: A first class option in an excellent location with an outside pool.

Asia Star Hotel

With 310 rooms this is a large hotel 10 minutes walk from the centre of Dali. The guestrooms are spacious and comfortable.

Our Opinion: A big hotel popular with large tourist groups. Construction going on next door to hotel.

Grand Lijiang Hotel

A comfortable hotel with 126 guestrooms which are clean, fresh and spacious. It is situated right in the heart of the wonderful old town of Lijiang. Most of the rooms have amazing views of the town.

Our Opinion: A good option in a fantastic location.
