YUNNAN HIGHLIGHTS

Featuring: Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Stone Forest

The Yunnan Province, located in the South West, is China's 6th largest province. Its scenery is diverse with lush jungles bordering Laos and Vietnam in the south and ice-capped mountains bordering Tibet and Myanmar to the north west. See some of its main highlights in a private tour, with your own English speaking guide.

Day 1 - Kunming

Arrive Kunming. Enjoy a city tour of the provincial capital, known as the 'City of Eternal Spring', and see the Flower and Bird Market.

Day 2 - Dali

Fly to Dali, standing at over 6000ft high on a narrow rice plain. Take a boat trip to Erhai Lake, explore the three main islands with their small temples, and enjoy a show of traditional music and dance. After lunch, visit the three pagodas.

Day 3 - Lijiang

Depart overland towards Lijiang. This charming town is a world heritage site and a gathering place for colourful hilltribes. Visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with a chair lift ride to discover the much famed thirteen peaks. Time at leisure to visit old Lijiang.

Day 4 - Tiger Leaping Gorge

An early morning drive to Stone Drum, where the Yangtze River turns 180 degrees and onwards to Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest canyons in the world.

Day 5 - Kunming

Time to explore Lijiang's cobbled streets intertwined with canals, before your flight to Kunming. Dinner this evening will be Yunnanese specialities followed by a cultural show.

Day 6 - Stone Forest

Visit the famous Stone Forest, where a collection of limestone cliffs and peaks dominate the landscape, before transferring to the airport.
