Taman Negara National Park is 130 million years old and can be visited on a side-trip from Kuala Lumpur. Here you will be serenaded by birds with names like crested fireback pheasant and bronzed drongo to name just two of the 600 species found in this jungle. This truly is an unforgettable experience.
Day 1 - Kuala Lumpur - Taman Negara
Depart the centrally located hotel at 9am for the 3-hour road journey to Kuala Tembeling by coach. Once here, depart by boat from Kuala Tembeling to Taman Negara taking approximately 2.5 hours arriving mid-afternoon. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to enjoy your surroundings. After dinner, you will be introduced to your guide and will receive a video presentation on Taman Negara National Park at the Interpretive Centre. Next you will proceed to a night jungle walk with your nature guide before turning in for the evening.

An early start for breakfast, then it's off into the jungle and trekking to the Canopy Walkway and Teresek Hill to view Gunong Tahan, the highest peak in peninsular Malaysia. En-route your guide will point out the many rare plants and flowers. Back to the resort for lunch, then off on a boat cruises to Lata Berkoh for swimming and fishing. Enjoy a relaxing dinner in the evening activities.

After breakfast, depart by boat to Park H.Q and then by road to Kuala Lumpur arriving back mid-afternoon. Extra nights can be arranged on request. The 3-night tour includes a cave exploration and shooting the 7 major river rapids.
What to bring along: Loose fitting, light-weight cotton clothes, long sleeves for night jungle walk. Sports shoes or jungle boots. Torch light for night jungle walk, insect repellent and first-aid kit. N.B. Transport to/from the park is shared, but tours are privately guided.
