COLONIAL PENANG & THE WILDLIFE OF BORNEO

Featuring: Georgetown, Wildlife Of Borneo, Sandakan, Kuala Lumpur (departure)

In 1885 the famous Sarkies Brothers opened their first hotel, the Eastern & Oriental, in Georgetown on the island of Penang, West Malaysia. By 1927 it was advertised as ‘the premier hotel east of the Suez’ and was well-patronised by the likes of Sir Noel Coward, Douglas Fairbanks, Rudyard Kipling and Somerset Maugham. Combine this with the highlights of a trip to Borneo: the majesty of Mount Kinabalu; the endangered Orang-utan and the unique proboscis monkey. Includes relaxation at a resort hotel in Borneo.
