SRI LANKA - OFF THE BEATEN TRACK

Day 1 - Bentota
Arrival and proceed to Bentota. Check in at Serendib Hotel for 2 nights, rest of day at leisure. Overnight stay at Serendib Hotel.
Day 2 - Bentota
After breakfast proceed to a canoe ride. This tour starts with a paddle adventure during the morning session. It explores the Paragastota River, which once connected the spice estates of the Dutch to bustling spice port at Kalutara. Traces of old spice route still exist (the heavy stone walls of landing points and locks). The places are ideal for picnic lunch by the river. In the evening go for cycling and mountain biking. There are countless trails, from vehicle width tracks to footpaths weaving in and out of the trees. Overnight stay at Serendib Hotel
Day 3 - Udawalawe
After breakfast proceed to Udawalawe. At the park entrance you will depart on 4WD jeeps and travel to the campsite inside the park. The area of this park is 30,821 hectares and is a dry zone park, which was declared as a national park in 1972. Lunch at the campsite. In the afternoon, enjoy a safari of Udawalawe National Park by jeep. This park is world famous for its elephants, seen in all their playfulness, whole herds of them, adults and babies bathing and playing in the water or feeding. In addition to the elephants, spotted
deer, sambhur, barking deer and langur, water buffalo and jackal are some of the prominent wild animals found in this park. Overnight stay at Udawalawe campsite
Day 4 - Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En-route, visit Hakgala Botanical Gardens. On arrival in Nuwara Eliya, there will be a brief city tour of the town. Because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, Nuwara Eliya is Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort and is also the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country producing a significant share of the world s best tea. Overnight stay at The Tea Factory Hotel.

Early this morning proceed to visit Horton Plains, which is located on a high windswept saddle at about 2134 meters above the sea level. The plains are an expanse of misty grassland with scraggy trees and ice-cold rivulets. Visit the World’s End, considered to be the finest view in all of Sri Lanka. Rest of the day spent at leisure. Overnight stay at The Tea Factory Hotel.

After breakfast proceed to Kitulgala for whitewater rafting. Then proceed to Kandy for a city tour of this fascinating town. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798.Visit the Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy and then onto a cultural show. Overnight stay at Hantane Shadow Resort.
Day 7 - Dumbara Valley
After breakfast proceed to visit the Knuckles Mountain Range which is so named due to its formation, which resembles the knuckles of a clenched fist. They loom high above the Dumbara Valley. Next visit a mini-worlds end at Deenston. Enjoy lunch, then it’s onto Corbet’s View Lodge for overnight.

Day 8 - Dumbara Valley
Today is free for trekking, hiking or mountain biking with full board accommodation at Corbet's View Lodge. Overnight stay at Corbet's View Lodge.
Day 9 - Negombo
After breakfast proceed to Negombo for your last night at The Beach Hotel before your flight home. Overnight stay at The Beach Hotel
