GOLDEN TRIANGLE AND LAOS

Featuring: Chiang Mai - Lisu Lodge, Lisu Lodge - Golden Triangle, Golden Triangle - Chiang Khong (Thai Border) / Hueisay (Laos Border)/ Pakbeng, Luangsay - Pakbeng 'pak Ou' Luang Prabang

Experience a unique insight into the lives of hill tribes, take the opportunity of a photo stop at the legendary Golden Triangle before crossing the border to Laos. There embark on the LuangSay cruise on the Mekong River to Luang Prabang in Laos with a stop for overnight at the LuangSay Lodge in Pakbeng.

Day 1 - Chiang Mai - Lisu Lodge

Drive north to Mae Rim and enjoy a stroll around the extensive gardens and orchid farm. Then drive up the mountain to Hmong Pha Nok Kok village. After the visit, continue to Mae Sa waterfall. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue driving to the Aummarin Jungle Raft Elephant camp for elephant riding and rafting along the pretty Mae Taeng River. Continue by road to Lisu Lodge for check in.

Day 2 - Lisu Lodge - Golden Triangle

Early breakfast at Lisu Lodge, then drive to local market of Mae Malai for a visit. Also stop to visit Akha Lor Cha Village. Continue after lunch to Mae Sai, the border town adjacent to the Myanmar border. Drive to the Golden Triangle for a boat trip along the Mae Khong River to Chiang Sean. Transfer to your choosen hotel for check in.

Day 3 - Golden Triangle - Chiang Khong (Thai Border) / Hueisay (Laos Border)/ Pakbeng

Early morning, depart from the hotel to Chiang Khong (Thai Border) for the visa formalities at the immigration point. Cross the river by shuttle boat to Houeisay (Laos border). Embark on board LuangSay boat and depart Houeisay pier. Cruise down the Mekong to Pakbeng. Stop en-route to discover a traditional Lu village and observe the rural life along the Mekong River. Arrive at Pakbeng before sunset and check-in at LuangSay Lodge.

Day 4 - Luangsay - Pakbeng 'pak Ou' Luang Prabang

After breakfast at the hotel, board LuangSay boat for the second leg of the cruise. Continue to Pak Ou village at the mouth of the Nam Ou River and visit Tam Ting 'Caves of a 1000 Buddha'. Arrive at Luang Prabang before sunset.
