Experience this adventurous tour, using a combination of trekking, mountain bike riding, elephant riding and white water rafting.
Day 1 - Chiang Mai - Lahu Outpost
Pick up from your hotel in Chiang Mai by local truck and drive to the area of Pha Mieng. Walk down a steep jungle path to the waterfall and pool of Pha Mieng before descending on the Lahu village. After lunch walk to the top of the mountain, where the Red Lahu Village of Pha Daeng is located and enjoy a cup of Chinese tea with a village family. Walk along a mountain ridge to the Lahu village of Kup Kap, the views from this village are spectacular.
Day 2 - Lahu Outpost - Lisu Lodge
After breakfast, walk downhill to Huay Sadhan waterfall, then continue along the stream and nature trail to the rafting point for white water rafting (grade 1 to 2). You will arrive at the pretty Thai village of Muang Gurt. A picnic lunch is provided at Aummarin Jungle Raft Elephant Camp. Continue your drive to the Lisu Lodge, arriving late afternoon.
Day 3 - Lisu Lodge / Akha Outpost
Enjoy breakfast at the Lodge then see the shrine, which guards the village spirit and other aspects of Lisu culture. Take a 45-minute ox-cart ride through the farmland and forest to the large country village of Baan Pang Mai Daeng. After lunch, walk for 3-4 hours along the nature trail through the forest to end up at Akha Outpost.
Day 4 - Akha Outpost / Khum Lanna
In the morning after breakfast, walk roughly 3 hours down the hill to end up at the Akha village. Proceed by mountain bike for about 10 kms on a dirt and pave road to reach Khum Lanna for lunch. In the afternoon, more cycling, you see the abundant agriculture products such as rice, corn, chilli, peanut, soybean, potato, etc. Visit the huge reclining Buddha image at Wat Tham Dork Kum before you return to Khum Lanna.
