Perhaps associated most with war, Vietnam has moved on, and is rapidly developing. Visitors are welcomed by some of the friendliest people in Asia; a fascinating history dating back thousands of years; fabulous cuisine; and beautiful contrasting scenery from the mysterious islands of Halong Bay right down to the intricate waterways of the Mekong Delta. Tourism is a massive growth industry but the infra-structure is not as strong as say Thailand or Malaysia. Expect varying standards and higher prices, but if you look beyond these factors a tour through Vietnam is a unique and memorable experience.
