A TASTE OF VIETNAM

Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is the bustling economic centre of the south. This private tour will take you to the main highlights of the city, as well as some of the interesting places further afield including the Cu Chi tunnels and the Mekong Delta.
Day 1 - Ho Chi Minh
Arrive Saigon and transfer to hotel. Rest of day at leisure.

A short drive into the country-side brings you to Cu Chi Tunnels, where the Viet Cong developed an amazing, vast underground network of tunnels to elude the American forces during the war. In the afternoon, return to Saigon for a city tour. The city has many splendid places of historical interest, museums and beautiful gardens. Highlights include: The Presidential Palace; Notre Dame Cathedral; The War Museum; and a lacquerware worksop.

Spend a full-day on the Mekong Delta. Journey first by coach to My Tho and visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, a beautiful monastic sanctuary home to orphans, handicapped and other needy children, followed by a boat ride to visit an island with fruit orchards and try some fruit. Continue by sampan through the canals to see local life.
