TRAVEL INFORMATION
Passport
Before you travel to your destination, please check that your passport is ready for the trip. Your passport must be:
- Valid for at least three months beyond your intended departure date.
- Not damaged, defaced or excessively worn.
- Showing a visa or permit, if you require one.
Personal Safety
When you are on holiday naturally there is the inclination to 'switch off', but in matters involving your personal safety we urge you to take all reasonable precautions to protect yourself and your travelling companions.
For example, when moving around, we ask you to be alert and to avoid drawing attention to yourself by wearing expensive jewellery etc. If on a tour off the beaten track ensure you are wearing appropriate footwear and do not take any unnecessary chances.
Also, please ensure that at each hotel you familiarise yourself with the Fire Exits and other safety requirements. If there is a beach and/or swimming pool check the depths before entering and at the coast take local advice on sea conditions. If travelling with small children, look out for potential hazards e.g. unprotected open water, glass doors, balconies etc.
Be vigilant, be safe and enjoy your holiday!
Travel Insurance
As a Tour Operator we are able to offer travel insurance policies to our clients who book with Trips Worldwide. We offer both single trip travel insurance to cover the booked holiday arrangements and annual multi trip insurance to cover your Trips Worldwide holiday and all other travel taken within a year. Our annual multi trip policy covers all trips up to a maximum duration of 70 days each trip, on a worldwide basis. Premiums vary according to the period and location of travel and the ages of each insured person. Under the model of good practice for the sale of travel insurance that is not regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), we must draw your attention to important features of the Trips Worldwide Policy including:
Health: Your policy contains conditions that relate to your health and that of others not necessarily travelling with you but upon whose well being the trip may depend. In particular, pre-existing medical problems are not covered unless the Medical Helpline is contacted on: 0870 906 3140.
Conditions and Exclusions: Will apply to individual sections of your policy, while general exclusions and conditions will apply to the whole of your policy.
Claims for Personal Effects: Your policy does not provide cover on a ‘new for old’ basis, which means that deductions for age, wear and tear will be made where appropriate.
Sums Insured or Limits: All sections of your policy have a limit on the amount the Insurer will pay. Some sections have internal limits such as the amount the Insurer will pay for any one item or the amount of all valuables (including photographic equipment).
Excesses: Under most sections of your policy, claims will be subject to an excess of £50. This means you will be responsible for paying the first part of each claim.
Reasonable Care: You are required to take all reasonable care of yourself and your property and to act at all times as though you are not insured.
Policy Document: This contains the full details of what is and is not covered. Please read it carefully to ensure you understand the cover provided. Should you wish to see a specimen, a copy will be made available prior to purchase upon request.
Complaints: Your policy contains a procedure which you should follow if you wish to make a complaint.
Date Recognition Failure: Your policy contains an exclusion for some losses arising from the failure of equipment to correctly recognise the calendar date.
High Risk Activities: Your policy may not cover you when you take part in certain activities not organised through Trips Worldwide. You must check that the Insurance covers your requirements.
Cooling Off Period: If your policy does not meet your requirements you may return the documentation within 14 days of the purchase or prior to travel if this is sooner and, provided no claim has been made, obtain a refund.
Jurisdiction: Your policy will be subject to English Law unless otherwise agreed.
